George Towner, Jr. died peacefully at the Goodwin House Baileys Crossroads, Falls Church on October 25, 2021 at the age of 90. George was a graduate of Princeton University (1952) and Harvard Law School (1956).  He practiced Civil Law in Arlington, Virginia for 65 Years.

George was the Virginia Metropolitan Youth Soccer Association Corresponding Secretary from 1979 to 1981; The Virginia DC Your Soccer Association Vice-President from 1981 to 1982 and Virginia DC Soccer Association President from 1982 to 1985.

He served as the USYS Region I Sub-Regional Director 1985-1986 and USYS Region I Director from 1986 to 1989.
